Master Tour version: PROFESSIONAL

“I’ve been using Master Tour for 12 years and can’t imagine touring without it. They do listen to feedback and implement it into their updates, which keeps them relevant. The Mobile App has changed the game for how we communicate on tour and they set the bar for others who aspire to do the same.”

Quick Bio: Mark Oglesby has been working on the road for over 15 years, working with acts such as OneRepublic, P!NK, and Sum 41. We tracked him down in between Springtime gigs to discuss his favorite spots & activities that make up his time on the road.

5 Q’s:

  1. What is your favorite venue to play and why? I’m a Kansas City native, so this certainly is biased, but the Sprint Center really does a nice job. The location is walking distance to hotels and food, the building is newer with modern amenities, but the staff makes that room. Like I said, I can’t hide my bias 🙂
  2. What three items do you absolutely need when on tour? Other than the obvious work essentials, I never leave home without my running shoes, a hat (I’m bald) and some nutritional snacks so I’m not obligated to airport junk food or can get ahead of the hangries….
  3. What is your secret to staying healthy on the road? As mentioned in Question #2, I am an avid runner, I’m sober and diet is important to me. I never eat after show food and try to stay disciplined as if I were at home. I LOVE dessert, especially when it’s made by tour catering. Bringing healthy snacks in my bag give me a fighting chance!
  4. What was your first touring gig and when? I got my first chance at touring with a bluegrass/country band called The Clark Family Experience in 2002.
  5. What’s your ideal city to have a day off? Why? What do you recommend to do here? I’d have to say London. It’s not cheap, but there is so much to do. It’s a very walkable city with plenty of food, entertainment and parks to just relax and read a book.
