5 Qs
Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Pre-show fist bump to the entire band and crew for good juju!
Can you share a standout moment that perfectly captures the essence of touring life?
Needing to ditch our trailer and cross-load the gear into a box truck to drive across country borders on a show day. We made it to the venue 45 minutes before doors to see the entire tour package working together to make the show happen without changing set times. The crowd went wild that night. Then we did it again the next day.
From cramped vans to unexpected detours, touring life can be full of surprises. How do you maintain a positive attitude and adapt to the ever-changing demands of life on tour?
Remembering that everything is a privilege! We all come together with a goal of putting on a show and nothing is more rewarding than a plan coming together with teamwork and dedication. Put it all out on the stage tonight and remember there’s always another chance at another show tomorrow.
What is the best touring tip you would give to a new TM?
Be prepared for the worst, but be kind and calm. You never know who will be on your next tour or where your next gig will come from.
What are your top 3 favorite venues to work with, and what makes them stand out from the rest?
The Van Buren in Phoenix, AZ – COLD BREW ON TAP. Roadrunner in Boston, MA – beautiful venue and great staff. LPR in NYC, NY – friendly staff and a great room for a rock show.
How do you cultivate a sense of community and camaraderie among your touring crew?
The in-between moments of tour– asking how someone’s day is going, checking in if your team has eaten, sharing peaks & pits!
